The following information comes directly from Capcom’s Q&A Statement from their Financial Results Briefing.
When asked about how their expectations for Nintendo Switch and how they will support it in the future, Capcom had this to say:
We feel the favorable performance of the Nintendo Switch, and the impact it is having on
reaffirming the status of home video game consoles, are very positive. Going forward we will
support the Nintendo Switch based on our fundamental strategy of multiplatform development.
Further, we are cognizant of the need to evaluate further how to best utilize the unique features
of this platform, which differ from those of other home video game consoles.
On one hand, this statement seems very unclear of their motives as they’d rather focus on releasing their titles as multi-platform. At the same time, they mentioned their positive outlook of the Nintendo Switch and are aware of its momentum. Perhaps that’s a sign of Capcom wanting to put the effort in utilizing the features Nintendo Switch are capable of without sacrificing quality in any way. Okami HD for Nintendo Switch would already have some of its work cut out when you look at Okami for Wii.
