Eurogamer has said that sources close to them have revealed that the fantasy RPG series Fable will be making a return. The series was originally created by developer Lionhead, a studio who functioned up until less than 2 years ago when Microsoft closed the their doors. Now, it’s been said that Playground Games, the studio behind the entire Forza racing series on Xbox consoles will be taking on this new project as well as staffing up to 200 more people to take on the task. Still early on in development, the word is they’re looking to create a story-driven, open-world action RPG, possibly due to the success of Sony’s successful new IP Horizon Zero Dawn, developed by Guerrilla Games.
Currently, Microsoft has refused to comment on the matter, but the word on a new Fable game has been floating around for a while now. It’s just a matter of who & when.
